1.1 Introduction to HALT

Download

Congratulations on registering for the Herdmanship University HALT course. This course was designed for the busy professional that wants to use the healing power of horses to help clients take steps forward. The curriculum has been consolidated for easy recall in the arenas. We have made this material easy to "grasp" by using your fingers to help you remember the principles of this course. If you become stuck in a session, look at your hands to help you remember certain points and always look to the horse for next steps. You can always print out the pdf as posters for your office or arena space.

This course will offer you a Certification for your "learned knowledge" of this course. Your mastery will come through the "applied knowledge" of using these principles.

After you have completed the course, email info@herdmanshipuniversity and request your certificate. We would also love some feedback on how this course is helping you! Let us know if you want an email or printed copy of your certificate.

Suggested Requirements for HALT:

  1. The Mental Health professional with a state license should already have strong counseling skills. This course will give them other tools using the horses to assist clients.
  2. It is recommended that a Facilitator have 25 internship hours with a mental health counselor, life coach or a HALT team member.
  3. It is strongly recommended that your Equine Professional complete the Herdmanship University Harmony Horsemanship Foundation/Level I for unmounted work.
